The Inquisitor: Bernie Sanders Announces He Is Leaving The Democratic Party
By Robert Jonathan, Jul. 27, 2016, The Inquisitr
Bernie Sanders is staging his own #DemExit of a kind.
He revealed this week that he is resuming his status as a political independent and leaving the Democratic Party when he goes back to work in the U.S. Senate.
The Vermont Senator, a self-described socialist and runner-up to Hillary Clinton in the presidential primary sweepstakes, ran for president as a Democrat.
Last November, when filing his paperwork for the New Hampshire Primary, Sanders said “I am running as a Democrat obviously, I am a Democrat now,” the Burlington Free Press reported. “Sanders says he’ll run as a Democrat in future elections,” the Free Press added.
On Tuesday, Sanders seemed to change his tune about his party affiliation. During the Bloomberg Politics breakfast in Philadelphia, he declared that “I was elected as an independent; I’ll stay two years more as an independent,” the Wall Street Journal detailed.

NPR: Federal Judge Rules: John Hinckley, Who Shot President Reagan, Wins His Freedom
John Hinckley, Who Tried To Kill A President, Wins His Freedom
By Carrie Johnson, Jul. 27, 2016, NPR
Thirty-five years after he tried to kill a president, John Hinckley has won his freedom.
A federal judge in Washington, D.C., has granted a request for Hinckley to leave the mental hospital where he's lived for decades, to go live full-time with his elderly mother in Williamsburg, Va.
The release could happen as early as next week, the judge ruled. Under the terms of his order, Hinckley is not allowed to contact his victims, their relatives or actress Jodie Foster, with whom he was obsessed. Hinckley also will not be permitted to "knowingly travel" to areas where the current president or members of Congress are present. The judge said Hinckley could be allowed to live on his own or in a group home after one year.
"Mr. Hinckley shall abide by all laws, shall not consume alcohol, illegal drugs... shall not possess any firearm, weapon, or ammunition and shall not be arrested for cause," Senior U.S. District Judge Paul Friedman ordered.

I fought 25+ years to bring justice to human trafficking victims. The only problem? I'm a Republican.

The DNC speaker on human trafficking is a good example of how opportunistic Dems are. I fought against pimps and black market drug dealers, campaigning to enact some of the toughest laws in our country against adult youth and child sex trafficking. My story is only possible in America.
Do you think for a minute Hillary even knows my name? She knows my pimps name! The one I turned in. Everyone who was on the party scene in Hollywood in the early 90's knew her name. But because I'm a Republican be default of working with Democrats for 12 years, my fight and voice is not politically equitable with Hillary or the Dems.
Because it's not about solving real problems! It's about maintaining the status quo and giving lip service and grants to fat cats who do nothing to help those who really need it. As we speak, right now, young girls are walking the streets for money, on Western and 15th Street here in Los Angeles. Only a few blocks away from my studio. Prop. 35 did nothing to help those women. They have no way out because all politicians know how to do is create "issues de jour" giving lip service till the microphones and the cameras are gone. Wake up people! Wake up! The Washington Times: Wasserman Schultz immediately joins Clinton campaign after resignation
By Victor Morton, July 24, 2016, The Washington Times
She may be done with the Democratic National Committee, but former chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz was quickly picked up by the Hillary Clinton campaign.
Ms. Wasserman Schultz was widely criticized during the Democratic primary by supporters of Bernie Sanders of using her position at the DNC to tip the race toward Mrs. Clinton. At least some of that was confirmed at the weekend by the release by Wikileaks of internal DNC emails, which forced her to announce her resignation Sunday.
But in a reaction statement to reporters Sunday, Mrs. Clinton gave Ms. Wasserman Schultz a soft landing by announcing that she would join the Clinton campaign.
“I am glad that she has agreed to serve as honorary chair of my campaign’s 50-state program to gain ground and elect Democrats in every part of the country,” Mrs. Clinton said in the statement.
The statement went on to say that Ms. Wasserman Schultz “will continue to serve as a surrogate for my campaign nationally.”

Fox News: Schultz Out! - Wasserman Schultz ousted from convention role amid email leak
Fox News, Jul. 24, 2016
PHILADELPHIA – Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been ousted from her convention role, Fox News confirmed Sunday, after leaked emails indicating an anti-Bernie Sanders bias in her operation inflamed the left flank of the party.
Fox News has learned she will not preside over the convention set to start Monday, following pressure from the White House and Hillary Clinton campaign.
This comes amid reports that Wasserman Schultz also will have no speaking role at the convention.
The committee has not confirmed that publicly; however, her name is nowhere to be found on the list of speakers. And she was slated to make opening remarks at a rules committee meeting Saturday, but never showed up.
The rapid-fire set of developments ahead of the Philadelphia convention kick-off indicate a party in crisis management mode as officials try to prevent anger over the email leak controversy and other issues from disrupting proceedings. The emails only bolstered claims from Sanders – and Republican nominee Donald Trump – that the system was rigged against the Vermont senator.

Opinion: President Trump - Get Used To It The Way Some Of Us Did By Bucky Fox
By Bucky Fox, Jul. 23, 2016, Buena Park, CA
We'll be right. When Donald Trump wins the presidency on Nov. 8, some of us can cheer our seer power. Ann Coulter called Trump a lock atop the Paris slaughter of Nov. 13. I guaranteed a Trump triumph way before the Muslim massacres in Europe and California -- and wrote a column to make it official in February. WorldNetDaily's Joseph Farah recently predicted a Trump landslide of Reagan proportions.
Also the other day, "Reagan: The Movie" producer Mark Joseph said over lunch that he could see everything breaking for Trump at crunchtime. We're on the winning side. Just as the rare Trumpeters of 2015 -- Jeff Lord, Charles Hurt, Michael Savage -- have enjoyed higher volume with TV and radio voices Gina Loudon, A.J. Delgado, Kayleigh McEnany, Laura Ingraham, Jesse Lee Peterson, Bill Mitchell, Tucker Carlson, Andrea Tantaros, Kim Guilfoyle, Pat Buchanan and Sean Hannity. And yet. The conservative holdouts are maddening.
Sure, Van Jones and Paul Begala will never leave the lefty reservation. But GOP hands Mark Levin, Hugh Hewitt, Jonah Goldberg, Rich Lowry, S.E. Cupp? Their conversion to Trump is slower than a Hillary fashion change. Speaking of which, what do those righties want? The pantsuit hag kicking down the Constitution and borders? Evidently such old-guard Republicans don't care if the White House stays flaming red. Which leads Trump fans to ask: Why?
What is it about Trump's dead-on positions that the George Will gang can't stomach? What exactly don't they like about: Build the wall. Stop the Muslim terror flood. Kill ObamaCare. Erase Common Core. Solidify gun rights. Slash taxes. U-turn inversions. Paint the art of the trade deal. In reality, Bill Kristol & Co. love Trump's takes. What they can't stand is being wrong -- exactly how they've been for a year -- as Trump: Announced his candidacy. Won every debate. Spelled out policy details such as how to fix the VA. Drew expanding throngs. Dominated the primaries. Won the nomination in a delegate rout.
Charles Krauthammer and fellow travelers went down the Trump-can't-win path. And can't handle getting exposed for such spectacular idiocy. They're still at it. Just the other night former GOP Congressman John LeBoutillier told Fox News that Trump better be nervous since too much of the party doesn't like him. WHAAAAT?
After Donald drew the most Republican votes in primary history? And my namesake network keeps paying serious cash for the LeBoutilliers to spew this crap. You know what's at the heart of conservatives' anti-Trump drumbeat? Embarrassment. People hate wiping egg off their face. I felt that in my office from the Summer of Trump through New Hampshire and Indiana.
Professional pundits full of themselves promised Rubio would topple the real estate titan. And when I stood tough with Trump, they dismissed me to cover up their humiliation. As the faulty faction remains intransigent vs. Trump, these political nuts are looking more like the pouting Cruz. Get over it, people. Listen to Tennessee Rep. Marsha Blackburn, who delivered a harsh counter in Cleveland: "Hurt feelings are not qualifiers for leadership." Or for the last word in Coulter's new book: "In Trump We Trust."

CNN: DNC treatment of Sanders at issue in emails leaked to Wikileaks
By Theodore Schleifer, Jul. 23, 2016, CNN
(CNN)Nearly 20,000 emails sent and received by Democratic National Committee staff members were released Friday by Wikileaks, with one message in particular raising questions about the committee's impartiality during the Democratic primary.
The revelation threatened to shatter the uneasy peace between the Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders camps and supporters days before the Democratic convention kicks off next week.
The leaks, from January 2015 to May 2016, feature Democratic staffers debating everything from how to deal with challenging media requests to coordinating the committee's message with other powerful interests in Washington.
The emails were leaked from the accounts of seven DNC officials, Wikileaks said. CNN has not independently established the emails' authenticity.

The New York Times: Hillary Clinton Selects Tim Kaine, a Popular Senator From a Swing State, as Running Mate
By Amy Chock, July 22, 2016
Hillary Clinton named Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia to be her running mate Friday, according to a senior campaign official, selecting a battleground state politician with working-class roots and a fluency in Spanish, traits that she believes can bolster her chances to defeat Donald J. Trump in November.
Mrs. Clinton’s choice came after her advisers spent months poring over potential vice-presidential candidates who could lift the Democratic ticket in an unpredictable race against Mr. Trump.
In the end, Mrs. Clinton decided Mr. Kaine, 58, a former governor of Virginia who sits on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and speaks fluent Spanish, had the qualifications and background and the personal chemistry with her to make the ticket a success.
Mrs. Clinton had entertained more daring choices. She considered Thomas E. Perez, the secretary of labor, who would have been the first Hispanic on a major party ticket; Senator Cory Booker, of New Jersey, who would have been the first African-American to seek the vice presidency; and Adm. James G. Stavridis, a retired four-star Navy admiral who served as the supreme allied commander at NATO, but had never held elected office.
