Remember Bob Laszewski? He's the health insurance industry expert whose generally accurate and prescient criticisms of Obamacare over the span of several years have largely been vindicated by events. He's been watching the steady departure of insurers from the law's failing exchanges (here's the latest example) with increasing concern, warning that the entire system risks implosion within the next year if the current trajectory isn't significantly altered. Townhall: Report: The NYT Endorsed Hillary in '08, "the Same Year" it Accepted Money From Her?
By Daniel Doherty, Jun. 8, 2015, Townhall
In the end, it didn’t matter. The New York Times may have thrown its weightbehind Hillary Clinton for president in 2008, but the effort was a waste of time and ink. She lost.
Nevertheless, the Washington Free Beacon—once again, it would seem—unearthed an astonishing bombshell Sunday evening: The Clintons reportedly gave an organization affiliated with the New York Times a nice, hefty sum of casharound the same time the newspaper endorsed her for president.
A little-known private foundation controlled by Bill and Hillary Clinton donated $100,000 to the New York Times’ charitable fund in 2008, the same year the newspaper’s editorial page endorsed Clinton in the Democratic presidential primary, according to tax documents reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.
The Clinton Family Foundation, a separate entity from the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation, has been the family’s vehicle for personal charitable giving since 2001.
It is funded directly by the Clintons and distributes more than $1 million a year to civic and educational causes.

Townhall: Grassley to Holder: Why Is The VA Putting So Many Veterans on Your Federal Gun Ban List?
By Katie Pavlich, Apr. 17, 2015, Townhall.com
Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder expressing deep concerns over Veterans Affairs evaluations classifying veterans as "mentally defective" and banning them in the federal background check system from purchasing or owning a firearm.
According to Grassley's office, the VA "reports individuals to the gun ban list if an individual merely needs financial assistance managing VA benefits," keeping them from exercising their Second Amendment rights. (Bolding is mine)
"The National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is effectively a national gun ban list and placement on the list precludes the ownership and possession of firearms. According to the Congressional Research Service, as of June 1, 2012, 99.3% of all names reported to the NICS list’s "mental defective” category were provided by the Veterans Administration (VA) even though reporting requirements apply to all federal agencies.
