Alex Datig: How I Will Remember Charlie Kirk

For most of my political life, I've been a Republican. I have studied political news trends for over 20 years and have posted countless posts to social media and tens of thousands of news clips to Front Page Index. Charlie Kirk, one of the greatest conservative voices in America, was among them.

In 2016, 2020, and 2024, I voted Republican for President Donald J. Trump. During this time, we have seen an attack on free speech that tried to take away many conservative voices. In a sea of political dissent, Charlie Kirk, who inspired and mobilized a generation of young voters, was assassinated by a cold-blooded killer.

A mother and father have lost their 31-year-old son, leaving two small grandchildren without a dad, and Charlie’s wife, Erika, a widowed mother of two. This should not be happening in America!

With Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk made it his life’s mission to be an example people want to follow. His ideas resonated because he had the ability to understand and articulate wisdom and truth and persuasively relate it to the masses. Some of his best ideas came from those with opposing views who intelligently countered him in debates.

He shifted the conversation and inspired young voters to think about the issues and to think for themselves. By doing so, he inspired a generation of young voters to help elect the greatest president of my time, Donald J. Trump.

By creating Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk did what we as Americans are all supposed to do. Lift up the next generation and show them the way to a better, more dignified, and secure future, where Americans can thrive.

What we witnessed in the past few days has made one thing clear. The left is not like us, and we conservatives are not like them. Charlie Kirk was a giant in his mission to create a better America. We have a duty to honor his legacy for generations to come.

Charlie Kirk may be gone, but his memory will live on as a man of great vision who loved his country.

May God bless America through the memory of Charlie Kirk.
