Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has tapped a mix of current and former elected officials, party operatives, spouses and others as his pledged California delegates to the GOP convention in Cleveland, according to a list released Monday.
Former Rep. Doug Ose, congressional hopeful Elizabeth Emken, and communications consultant Dennis Revell, a son-in-law of Ronald Reagan, are among the Sacramento-area Trump delegates. Others from around the state include House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Bakersfield, state Sen. Joel Anderson, R-Alpine, and political consultant Charles Moran, the former chairman of the California chapter of the Log Cabin Republicans.
Another pledged delegate is Senate Minority Leader Jean Fuller, R-Bakersfield, as well as Peter Thiel, the co-founder of PayPal.
“We believe that our delegation represents the economic and grassroots community diversity of California. We feel very good about it,” said Tim Clark, Trump’s California strategist.
