CNN: Washington digs in for Supreme Court fight

Justice Antonin Scalia
By Stephen Collinson, FEB. 15, 2016, CNN

Washington (CNN) - One empty seat on the Supreme Court has changed everything.

Washington is adjusting to a new political reality after the sudden death of Justice Antonin Scalia, which left a turbulent White House race transformed, a lame-duck president back at the center of the political storm and Senate Republican leaders juggling an electoral hand grenade.

After the shock of Scalia's passing and the swift eruption of a bitter partisan feud over his replacement, President Barack Obama and his GOP adversaries will this week begin digging deep for a showdown that will define an already tumultuous political year.

Obama has upped the ante by making clear that he will defy Republican leaders and presidential candidates who warn he should leave the momentous task of nominating a new justice, who could tip the balance of the Court to liberals, to a new administration.

  1. Are you tired of this Government taking away your control? A rough president, stealing rights enshrined in the US Constitution for left wing ideology, and his pen? Stone age congressmen changing laws as frequently as their adult diapers? A Supreme court voting 5-4,4-5 with the deciding vote always one Justice, Lucky Pierre (Justice Kennedy) in the middle as effective as flipping a coin? It has been happening over the last 20 years more than any in history.
Now we are faced with one appointed liberal vote away from losing our constitutional rights, front center our 2nd amendment right of the people to keep and bear Arms. There are many more ideologists like Obama who want to change and redesign the American Culture away from the exceptionalism we command today.
So how can this be resolved? The solution is in the Convention of States.
Are you interested in resolving the following:
    A balanced budget amendment,
A redefinition of the General Welfare Clause (the original view was the federal government could not spend money on any topic within the jurisdiction of the states)
A redefinition of the Commerce Clause (the original view was that Congress was granted a narrow and exclusive power to regulate shipments across state lines–not all the economic activity of the nation)
A prohibition of using international treaties and law to govern the domestic law of the United States
A limitation on using Executive Orders and federal regulations to enact laws (since Congress is supposed to be the exclusive agency to enact laws)
Imposing term limits on Congress and the Supreme Court
Placing an upper limit on federal taxation
Requiring the sunset of all existing federal taxes and a super-majority vote to replace them with new, fairer taxes
What America has been experiencing with Obama administration is not just a series of bad policies or Americans over reacting to this clown calling himself our president. The $19 trillion national debt is no accident either. Little accountability exists when agencies—rather than Congress—enact law. Congress has been using federal grants to keep the states under its control. We are seeing how Obamacare’s unlawful use of federal mandates. The radical social agenda has invaded the rights of the people. The Founders believed that the greatest protection of liberty should be through checks and balances between the federal branches, and to be shared between all the states. The Supreme Court actions have demonstrated that an imbalance is at hand. Unless some political force OUTSIDE of Washington, D.C., intervenes, the federal government will bankrupt this nation, embezzle the legitimate authority of the states, and destroy the liberty of the people. The correct path can be found within Article V of the United States Constitution. By calling a convention of the states, we can stop the federal runaway of power, the over reach of the federal courts, and other misuses of federal power. Congress has no authority to stop such a process. The Founders made sure of that. Follow the link, get self educated, then join in, and make America great again.
